Shane Clarke is the owner, manager and brains behind APC Barriers. He’s a true expert. His obsession with finding the quickest and safest method of installing concrete barriers has driven him to examine every detail of the process. This involves all the specifics, like not just trialling the different grips on the machinery, but testing the different types of rubber on the grip itself. After years of development, he’s got it down to a fine art.

Which is why APC Barriers is repeatedly asked to work on prestigious highway and construction projects all around the UK. Shane’s widely recognised as being unique in his field. No one else can do what he does.

And yes, he still loves to drive the ‘big toys’ himself!

FAMILY LEGACY

APC Barriers is built on generations of family businesses in the construction industry.

1940: John Clarke establishes a building contracting firm and in-house joinery workshop in Ireland

1991: Donal, John’s son, sets up Ardee Precast Concrete Ltd. He still manages it today, manufacturing our current products

2012: Shane, Donal’s son, founded APC Civils, the sibling of APC Barriers. Based in Old Dalby, Shane’s taking the family’s exceptional reputation into the 21st century with APC Barriers

Since the inception of APC Civils Ltd in 2012, the company has grown and has supplied its concrete barriers on multiple projects. Now with an Operator License, a growing haulage fleet and its 1 acre site with secure outdoor storage facilities for construction materials, the company is looking forward to extending its services.
